Uba Sani picks Jerry Adams as 2027 running mate

Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has announced the nomination of the Executive Chairman of the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS), Jerry Adams, as his running mate for the 2027 governorship election.

Sani made the announcement on Tuesday, saying the decision followed extensive consultations and was guided by his administration’s commitment to inclusion, fairness and unity in Kaduna State.

The governor said the choice of Adams represented more than the selection of a deputy governorship candidate, describing it as a reaffirmation of the values of justice, equity and equal opportunity that his administration promotes.

He noted that Kaduna’s diversity in religion, ethnicity and culture remained a strength, adding that his government had continued efforts to promote peace, rebuild trust and ensure equitable development across the state.

According to Sani, his administration had implemented projects in all 23 local government areas, covering roads, education, healthcare, water supply, agriculture, rural development and social protection.

He said improved security and inclusive governance had helped restore confidence among residents, with farmers returning to their lands, businesses expanding and investment opportunities increasing.

Sani described Adams as an accomplished public servant and revenue expert whose leadership had transformed KADIRS into one of Nigeria’s leading revenue agencies.

He said Adams’ reforms, driven by innovation, transparency and professionalism, had strengthened the state’s revenue base and enabled increased investment in critical sectors.

“Jerry Adams is a man of integrity, humility and quiet strength. He has consistently demonstrated commitment to peace, reconciliation and inclusive governance,” the governor said.

The governor urged residents to look beyond ethnic, religious and geographical considerations as the state approaches the 2027 election, emphasizing the need to prioritize competence, character and service.

He added that his administration would continue working towards a Kaduna State that is more united, secure, just and prosperous.
