The Uba Sani Aides Assembly (USAA), a forum of technical, special and senior special assistants to the Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has described the administration’s infrastructural projects across the state as unprecedented.
The aides made the claim after inspecting some ongoing and completed projects across Kaduna State, saying the projects were spread across the three senatorial districts and all 23 local government areas.
Speaking after the inspection, the Chairman of the forum, Ibrahim Mohammed, said the administration had initiated 160 new road projects in addition to inherited projects.
He said the projects had brought the total road network under construction across the state to 1,355 kilometres.
Mohammed said the projects covered both urban and rural communities, adding that the administration had prioritised the use of reputable contractors and adherence to project timelines.
“Infrastructural development has not been concentrated in the capital while rural areas wait. The quality of work, the use of reputable contractors and insistence on timelines show a government that is serious about value for money,” he said.
He listed the Kaduna Modern Inter-State Bus Terminal at Millennium City, the Kabala Costain-Aliyu Makama Road and Bridge, and the reconstruction of the Ahmadu Bello Stadium as some of the administration’s flagship projects.
According to him, the bus terminal occupies 18 hectares in Millennium City, Chikun Local Government Area, and is designed to accommodate up to 5,000 vehicles.
Mohammed said the terminal was designed as a modern transport hub with solar power infrastructure and would help reduce traffic congestion in Kaduna metropolis by diverting interstate and heavy vehicles to Millennium City.
He added that the project was expected to create jobs, expand opportunities for small businesses and attract investment to Chikun and neighbouring communities.
The chairman said the terminal formed part of a wider transport plan involving the proposed Bus Rapid Transit system, Light Rail project and the modernisation of motor parks across the state.
On the Kabala Costain-Aliyu Makama corridor, Mohammed said the project had stalled since 2022 due to unpaid contractor certificates, compensation claims and utility relocation costs.
He said the current administration inherited the project at about 30 per cent completion before settling outstanding obligations and remobilising the contractors.
The aides also inspected the reconstruction of the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, which Mohammed said was being expanded from 16,000 to 33,000 seats.
He said the renovated stadium would feature a hybrid football pitch and Olympic-standard facilities and could host national teams, federal sporting programmes and major events.
According to Mohammed, the project could also generate economic opportunities for hotels, restaurants, transport operators and other businesses while creating jobs for young people.
He said the forum would soon begin a statewide awareness campaign across the 23 local government areas to explain the projects and their expected benefits to residents.
Mohammed also urged residents to support the administration and the All Progressives Congress to ensure continuity.
“We will take this message to markets, villages, towns and communities, and we will ask our people to stand with a government that is delivering. Continuity is the surest way to consolidate these gains and build on them,” he said.
