The Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) has commenced a capacity development training of teachers, caregivers on Early Child Care Development and Education (ECCDE) modern centres and ECCD desk officers from SUBEB for quarterly early learning in Basic Education.
The Executive Secretary of UBEC, Dr. Hammid Bobboyi, made this known via a statement made available to The Star on Tuesday.
Bobboyi stressed that the implementation of ECCDE was a yardstick of nurturing a child’s educational development through early stimulation and transition into primary school.

The UBEC boss, who was represented by the Deputy Executive Secretary, Technical, Prof. Bala Zakari during the opening ceremony if the training in Kano State, explained that participants would be exposed to curriculum utilization and implementation on the one-year pre-primary curriculum to boost the teaching ability and to support them in managing contemporary challenges in the implementation of ECCDE in the UBE program.
On his part, the UBEC Director, Special Programs, Dr. Ene Adikwu, stressed that the success of every child and education depend on the collective effort of all stakeholders who are saddled with the responsibility of impacting knowledge on the children through early stimulation, care, language skill, among others.
