Umahi suspends traditional ruler over killings in community

Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi, has suspended the traditional ruler of Isinkwo in Onicha Local Government Area of the state, Josephat Ikengwu, over the ongoing killings in the community.

The Secretary to the State Government, Dr Kenneth Ugbala, made this known via a statement issued on Sunday.

Ugbala noted that the suspension of the traditional ruler was with immediate effect, saying Ikengwu failed in his responsibility to stop the killings in the community.

“Consequently, he is to return all government property in his possession, including his official vehicle, to the SSG on or before close of work on Monday, October 17, 2022,” he added.
