The Minister of Works, David Umahi, has claimed that President Bola Tinubu has delivered to the Igbo people what they have long sought — a form of “Biafra” — through inclusive governance and national integration.
In his New Year message, Umahi said that the Tinubu administration has ended decades of neglect and marginalisation of the South-East by integrating the region fully into Nigeria’s political and development agenda.
IHe described the progress as the realisation of the aspirations many Igbos associate with “Biafra,” but within the framework of a united country.
Umahi urged Southeasterners to support Tinubu’s 2027 reelection bid, arguing that their future and interests are now tied to the current government’s policies.
He warned against being swayed by political opponents and urged people to focus on unity and constructive participation in national affairs.
He further said that numerous federal infrastructure projects — such as ongoing road developments — are concrete evidence of the administration’s commitment to the region.
The minister also announced plans for a task force to improve safety on federal highways after the yuletide period.
