The University of Calabar (UNICAL) in Cross River State has suspended nine students over alleged examination malpractice and forgery of results.
The suspension was announced via a statement issued by UNICAL Registrar, Dr Chukwuka Icha, on Monday, March 2, 2026.
Icha stated that the decision to suspend the students was reached at the Senate meeting, following reports presented by the ad-hoc Senate committee on examination malpractice and the Senate students’ disciplinary committee.
Icha said while five students were suspended for examination malpractice, four others were found to have submitted forged results to the university.
