The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), Prof. Wahab Egbewole, has announced that the 2022/2023 academic session of the institution will commence in August 2023.

Egbewole, who disclosed this during an interactive session with newsmen in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital on Wednesday, said the university was prepared to return to the era of its characteristic stable academic calendar.

This, he said, was with the attendant high-quality service delivery.

He noted that his administration was not unmindful of the expectations of stakeholders as regards the need to ensure that UNILORIN returned to the path of sustainable stable academic calendar, which he said had placed it on top in the nation’s university system.

The VC expressed satisfaction that in spite of the challenges of the moment, the institution has been gaining tremendous positive momentum.

Egbewole stressed that this was considering the several accolades that have come its way and those of some members of the university community whose academic and research breakthroughs have been recognised and honoured.

The Vice-Chancellor reiterated his determination to leave the university better than he met it in every ramification, particularly in the complete digitisation of its operations.

Egbewole stated that the target of his administration was to ensure that the institution produce highly sophisticated and smart graduates who would be able to dominate their environments.

He expressed determination of helping the university become the first in Nigeria, among the first 10 in Africa, and one of the leading 500 universities across the globe.

Egbewole further disclosed that the institution has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tunil University, Italy, the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, United Kingdom, and the Summit University, Offa, on promotion of education and research.
