VeryDarkMan explains absence from Peller’s wedding, alleges fear of arrest in Lagos

Social media personality and activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has said he stayed away from the traditional wedding of TikTok personalities Peller and Jarvis because he feared he could be arrested if he travelled to Lagos.

Speaking during a TikTok live session, VDM claimed his relationship with the Lagos State Police Command had become strained, alleging that he no longer felt safe attending public events in the state.

According to him, he decided not to risk travelling to Lagos despite receiving an invitation to the ceremony.

He said he followed the wedding virtually after obtaining the event’s asoebi and described the celebration as well-organised.

VDM also congratulated the couple, expressing optimism about their future together.

“I couldn’t come to Lagos because I have bigger enemies there now. The Lagos Police and I are not on good terms. If I enter Lagos, there’s a high chance I could be set up, so I decided not to attend Peller’s wedding,” he said.

He added that he admired Peller and wished the couple a successful marriage, while also expressing confidence in the content creator’s future.

His comments come days after he alleged that the Nigeria Police were attempting to intimidate him following an invitation from the Lagos State Police Command.

VDM claimed unnamed senior police officers were seeking to lure him to Lagos for arrest over information he said he possessed against them.

He maintained that rather than honour the invitation, he intended to pursue the matter through the National Assembly, the Senate, the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, and the Office of the National Security Adviser.

The Lagos State Police Command has not publicly responded to the latest allegations.
