The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has vowed to take action against the officers who assaulted a yet-to-be-identified man in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
A viral video shared on social media showed a police officer beating and slapping a man on the highway in Port Harcourt.
Reacting to the assault, the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, on his Twitter handle on Monday, said he has ordered the Rivers State Police Command to fish out the officers.
Adejobi, who described the act as unfortunate, said the assault was unpolice and unethical.

“Quite unfortunate. I have asked the Rivers State Command to fish them out. This is unpolice, unethical, and condemned.
“Whatever the man must have done, he doesn’t deserve this beating.
“Beating him like a baby?? A grown-up man? We will surely get the men,” the police spokesperson stated.
