Senator Francis Fadahunsi, representing Osun East Senatorial District, has denied calling on All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters to attack or kill members of the Accord Party ahead of the Osun governorship election.
Fadahunsi, in an interview on Channels TV responding to a viral video shared by music star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, claimed that the footage had been manipulated using artificial intelligence.
The senator said the video circulating on social media did not accurately represent his remarks and urged the public not to rely on it as evidence of any call for violence.
The controversy followed the circulation of a video purportedly showing Fadahunsi addressing APC supporters and using the phrase “kill Accord” in reference to the rival political party.
The footage sparked reactions online, with concerns raised over the possible implications of such remarks ahead of the August 15, 2026, Osun governorship election.
Fadahunsi, however, maintained that the viral clip was AI-generated and that he never instructed APC members to physically attack supporters of Accord.
He said the development was an attempt to misrepresent his position and create tension ahead of the election.
The senator urged voters, political parties and their supporters to remain peaceful and avoid spreading unverified content capable of heightening political tensions.
The controversy comes amid heightened political activities in Osun as parties intensify campaigns ahead of Saturday’s governorship election.
Authorities and political stakeholders have repeatedly urged candidates and supporters to conduct themselves peacefully and allow voters to exercise their rights without intimidation or violence.
