WAEC suspends access to 2025 SSCE results over technical glitches

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has suspended access to the 2025 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) results following the discovery of technical errors during a post-release review.

This development comes just days after the results were officially released on Monday by Amos Josiah Dangut, head of WAEC Nigeria.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Moyosola Adesina, Acting Head of Public Affairs at WAEC, disclosed that the council identified glitches linked to a new security measure introduced to curb examination malpractice.

“As part of our anti-malpractice innovations, the Council implemented a paper serialization system in Mathematics, English Language, Biology, and Economics, similar to a method used by another national examination body. Unfortunately, technical bugs emerged during the post-release audit,” Adesina explained.

Due to the identified issues, the result-checking portal has been temporarily disabled. WAEC assured candidates and the public that corrective measures are being taken urgently to restore access and accuracy.

“We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience and ask all affected candidates to re-check their results after 24 hours,” the statement added.

WAEC emphasised its commitment to fairness, transparency, and maintaining the integrity of its examination processes.
