WhatsApp services have been restored after the instant communication app went down for almost two hours.
The Star had reported that the outage left millions of WhatsApp users across the globe unable to send or receive messages on Tuesday morning.
Downdetector, which tracks outages across major internet platforms around the world, confirmed that WhatsApp was not working for millions of users.
The app, however, resumed service shortly before 10 a.m.
WhatsApp’s parent company, Meta, suffered an unprecedented major outage last year.
