Nigerian Disc Jockey Florence Otedola, fondly called DJ Cuppy, says family background and celebrity status have frequently overshadowed her relationships, stressing that she can’t marry a Nigerian.
Speaking during a recent podcast appearance on X, the daughter of billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola, said her past dating experience made her question the intentions of some men.
Cuppy said such intentions came after her former partner appeared more interested in meeting her father than building a relationship with her.
She added that such attitude by her former partner has since generated widespread debate across social media platforms.
DJ Cuppy said: “I can never marry a Nigerian. It’s impossible. The last one I dated was asking me when he can meet my dad.
“I didn’t even think they liked me; my dad doesn’t even care who I marry. He just wants me to get married. That’s why I’m so happy for Temi and Eazi.”

DJ Cuppy added that she doubts if people are still attracted to her for who she really is or because of her public image and lifestyle.
Cuppy’s romantic history has rarely been quiet, especially after her most high-profile relationship with British boxer Ryan Taylor.
The relationship moved quickly from a 2022 engagement to a 2023 breakup, as well as series of very public exchanges in the years that followed.
It was observed that DJ Cuppy has not made any official post on her social media pages addressing the viral discussion.
