Why I converted to Islam — Burna Boy

Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has revealed that he is still searching for spiritual fulfillment despite converting from Christianity to Islam.

In a recent interview with streamer Playboymax, Burna Boy said his quest for understanding led him to study various religious books, but the deeper he delves, the more confused he feels.

“Growing up, I was a Christian, and then I converted to Islam,” he said.

“It’s like I’ve studied it all, but I’m still trying to find out what’s really going on.

“The more I research, the more confused I get.”

The singer explained that his spiritual journey is ongoing as he continues to seek personal truth and enlightenment.

His revelation comes months after fellow Nigerian artist 9ice disclosed that he converted to the Ifa religion after suffering a “spiritual attack” that left him bedridden for six months.

9ice said he now wishes he had embraced the faith earlier.
