Wife dies in auto crash while chasing husband, mistress

A middle-aged woman has been confirmed dead in an accident in Calabar, the Cross River State capital while chasing her husband and his alleged mistress.

The incident, which occurred on Murtala Muhammed Highway in Calabar on Sunday, was confirmed by the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Cross River State, Maikano Hassan.

Hassan disclosed that the woman, who was said to be in a hot chase of her husband and his mistress, said the woman died as a result of over-speeding.

The FRSC commander said the accident involving a Toyota Highlander claimed the life of the woman who veered off the road into a ditch by the road.

He added that the woman was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital but died a few minutes later due to the injury sustained from the incident.
