Wike commends quality, pace of ongoing Abuja road projects

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has expressed satisfaction with the quality and pace of ongoing road projects across Abuja, saying residents are beginning to witness visible governance through infrastructure development.

Wike spoke on Wednesday while inspecting ongoing road projects in Karu, Apo-Karshi and Gbazango, also known as Arab Road, in Kubwa.

The minister praised contractors handling the projects, particularly construction firms Abdul Val and Zeberced, for delivering quality work within the agreed timelines.

According to him, the level of progress recorded on the projects was impressive, especially the road projects in Karu, Apo-Karshi and Gbazango.

Wike specifically commended Abdul Val for the quality of work on the Karu road project, noting that the company had earlier executed the Ushafa road project commissioned last year by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu through Vice President Kashim Shettima.

He stated that the Karu road project would be among the projects expected to be inaugurated during activities marking Tinubu’s third anniversary in office.

Speaking on the Apo-Karshi road project being handled by SCC, the minister described it as a major infrastructure project long demanded by residents and expressed confidence that it would be completed before the end of the year.

He also praised Zeberced for the ongoing Gbazango road project, which he said would also be inaugurated during the President’s anniversary celebrations.

According to Wike, the same company previously handled the A2-Pai road project commissioned last year and is currently executing the Goma-Yangoji road project.

The minister noted that residents had shown appreciation for the projects, adding that people were beginning to feel the impact of governance through improved infrastructure.

He stressed that while quality delivery remained important, adherence to project timelines was equally critical.

Wike added that several projects were expected to be completed and inaugurated as part of activities lined up for the President’s third year in office.
