Woman, accomplice arrested for drug dealing in Lagos

The operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested a 40-year-old woman, Evelyn Nneka Okem, and a member of a syndicate dealing in methamphetamine, cocaine, and heroin in Lagos State.

The woman was arrested after the NDLEA operatives raided the home of one Esimone Amachukwu Christopher in the Ejigbo area of Lagos where 10.012 kilograms of methamphetamine was allegedly found in possession of Evelyn on Friday, March 1, 2024.

Evelyn is an associate of Esimone who is currently at large.

The NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, who made the disclosure in a statement issued on Sunday, March 3, added that while the Ejigbo operation was going on, another set of NDLEA officers were simultaneously busy in the residence of another 45-year-old member of the syndicate, Ebele Edwin Iwuegbunam, at Festac town in Lagos where they arrested him and recovered 429.5grams of cocaine and 7 kilograms of heroin.

He further disclosed that the anti-narcotic officers, on Thursday, February 29, recovered 169kg consignment of cannabis abandoned in a truck at Sagamu tollgate in Ogun State.
