A woman has been confirmed dead after taking her daughter to the ongoing Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) centre at Ilara-Mokin in Ifedore Local Government Area of Ondo State.
It was gathered that the deceased identified as Oluwasola Adebayo complained of weakness shortly after leaving the examination centre and arriving at the Ilara-Mokin junction, before she collapsed unexpectedly.
An eyewitness said: “The efforts to revive her were unsuccessful, and she was confirmed dead on the spot.
“Meanwhile, her child was inside the examination hall writing the test, unaware of the unfolding tragedy outside when the incident happened.”

The Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, confirmed the incident via a statement issued on Monday, April 20, 2026.
Jimoh added: “Upon thorough checks, the remains of the deceased have been released to one Mr Apapa Olamilekan, who identified himself as her son and an officer of the Nigeria Legion, Akure.
“The command commiserates with the family of the deceased and urges the public to remain calm.”
