Woman stabs boyfriend to death in Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command says its operatives have arrested a 27-year-old woman, Esther Paul, for allegedly stabbing her 21-year-old boyfriend, Sadiq Dahiru, to death in the state.

The command’s spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed this on Sunday.

Hundeyin said the arrest was made on Sunday after the step-father of the victim, Kazeem Obafunso, reported the case to Ilasan Police Division.

The police spokesperson stated that the report revealed that the victim was stabbed to death at about 1 a.m.

He added that a patrol team from the station was deployed to the scene at Oba Amusa Street, Agungi in the Lekki area of Lagos State.

Hundeyin said Dahiru’s body was moved to Evercare Hospital in Lekki where the victim was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty.

He said the knife used by Paul to stab her boyfriend was recovered, adding that the corpse has been deposited at IDH mortuary, Yaba for autopsy.

Hundeyin said preliminary investigation was ongoing, adding that the case would be moved to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
