Zamfara PDP chairman dies at 62

The chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Zamfara State, Ahmad Sani Kaura, has been confirmed dead.

The PDP Deputy Chairman in the state, Mukhtar Lugga, confirmed Kaura’s death on Wednesday.

He said the PDP chairman died in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital after a sudden undisclosed illness.

He disclosed that Kaura, who was hale and hearty, suddenly took ill after a consultative meeting with the state Council of Ulama in Gusau on Wednesday.

Lugga added that the PDP chairman was confirmed dead by doctors after he was rushed to Al-Hilal Hospital in the state capital.

He stated that the 62-year-old party chairman was survived by two wives and six children.

Kaura emerged as the PDP state chairman on September 23 following the resignation of Col. Bala Mande who picked the party’s senatorial ticket for Zamfara North ahead of the 2023 general election.
