Zenith Bank Plc has reaffirmed its commitment to child development in Nigeria through a wide range of initiatives focused on education, financial literacy, healthcare, digital inclusion, and social protection.
The bank said its interventions go beyond the annual celebration of Children’s Day, stressing that children remain central to its long-term vision of building future leaders across the country.
As part of efforts to promote financial literacy among children, Zenith Bank has partnered with Kiddies Corner on Inspiration 92.3FM Lagos for over three years, sponsoring the Tuesday edition and Zenith Financial Literacy Friday programme.
The initiative combines spelling bee competitions with financial literacy sessions aimed at teaching children savings culture and introducing them to the Zenith Children’s Account (ZECA).
The partnership was further highlighted during the Inspiration FM Children’s Day Carnival held on May 23, 2026, where the bank hosted more than 1,000 children and parents, rewarding ZECA winners with gifts, games, and entertainment activities.
The bank also disclosed that its quarterly Zenith Financial Literacy Week reaches schools across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, educating students on savings, budgeting, investments, and retail banking products.
According to the bank, outstanding students in participating schools receive cash rewards of N50,000 each.
In addition, Zenith Bank said its nationwide Financial Literacy Programme, conducted under the Central Bank of Nigeria’s Global Money Week initiative, reached 3,622 students across 22 local government areas in 2025, with 137 staff members serving as volunteer educators.
In support of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 on Quality Education, the bank said it has established ICT centres, libraries, vocational facilities, and renovated schools in different parts of the country.
Among the projects listed are a computer centre donated to Bamaina Academy in Dutse, Jigawa State, renovations at Ojota Secondary School and Victoria Island Secondary School in Lagos, as well as interventions at Hugallawa Primary School in Jigawa State.
The bank further noted that it has provided financial support to several schools, including a N1 million donation to Louisville Girls High School, Ijebu-Itele, to support girl-child education, infrastructure upgrades at Maryland Comprehensive Secondary School, and a scholarship endowment for St. Francis Catholic Secondary School.

Zenith Bank also said it supports the North-East Children’s Fund to improve access to education in conflict-affected communities.
On healthcare and child welfare, the bank stated that its Primary Healthcare Centre Initiative across the 774 local government areas incorporates financial education for parents during routine visits.
It added that its “PAD-A-QUEEN” Initiative marked the International Day of the Girl Child by distributing sanitary pads, hygiene kits, and menstrual health education materials to 5,000 girls in 10 schools.
Zenith Bank said it has also extended support to vulnerable children through donations to Bethesda Home and School for the Blind in Lagos, partnerships with Bosco Child Protection Centre for street children, and annual charity visits to orphanages.
Commenting on the bank’s commitment to children, the Group Managing Director/CEO of Zenith Bank Plc, Dr Adaora Umeoji, said the institution remains intentional about programmes that support young people.
“At Zenith Bank, we are deliberate about initiatives that elevate children because they are not just our future, they are our present responsibility,” Umeoji said.
She added that the bank would continue investing in education, financial literacy, healthcare, and digital inclusion to equip children with the tools needed to succeed.
Zenith Bank also highlighted its Annual Youth Parade, which has been held for 19 years, describing it as one of its flagship corporate social responsibility initiatives aimed at promoting leadership, discipline, teamwork, and confidence among Nigerian children and teenagers.
