Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum, has presented a cheque of N5 million to a private school to fund a scholarship for a 13-year-old pupil, Musa Sani, who used mud to replicate the state’s first flyover around the customs round-about in Maiduguri, the state capital.
The payment was made to Golden Olive Academy in Maiduguri to cater for Musa’s education from primary four to completion of Senior Secondary School.
The chairperson of the Borno State Education Trust Fund (ETF), Prof. Hauwa Biu, who presented the cheque on behalf of the governor, said the fund has been paid to a private school where Sani is now schooling.
Prof. Biu thanked Zulum for the offer and urged the boy to focus on his studies and make the governor proud.
Sani was born into a less privileged family living around Gwange area in Maiduguri.

He is a primary three pupil at a community school in Gwange.
He recently caught Governor Zulum’s attention when he used mud to design a flyover that was commissioned in December by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The governor, who was amazed by the kid’s brilliance, met his family and vowed to approve a scholarship for him, to harness his talents.
He further directed the Borno ETF to fund the boy’s education.
