Zulum thanks Tinubu for retaining Shettima as 2027 running mate

Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for re-nominating Vice President Kashim Shettima as his running mate for the 2027 presidential election.

In a statement issued on Saturday, Zulum described the decision as a demonstration of political maturity, national unity and confidence in the North-East region.

The governor said Shettima’s re-nomination reflected the President’s commitment to continuity, stability and the implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

According to him, the people of Borno consider the Vice President’s return to the presidential ticket a source of pride, describing it as recognition of Shettima’s leadership and contributions to national development.

Zulum noted that Shettima had steered Borno through some of its most difficult periods as governor and remained a symbol of resilience and dedicated public service.

He assured President Tinubu of the unwavering support of the Borno State Government and its people ahead of the 2027 general election, pledging that the state would work towards delivering massive support for the APC presidential ticket.

The governor also congratulated Shettima on his re-nomination and urged him to continue supporting the President in advancing the administration’s policies and programmes.

He thanked Tinubu for what he described as his confidence in the Vice President and for sustaining an inclusive leadership that promotes national cohesion.
