The Accord Party has expressed readiness to receive Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, as he considers a new political platform for his 2026 re-election bid following his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Adeleke recently left the PDP amid a prolonged leadership crisis within the party’s Osun chapter.
Speaking in Lagos on Wednesday, the Lagos State Chairman of the Accord Party, Dele Oladeji, described Accord as a more stable and crisis-free platform for the governor to pursue his second-term ambition.
“We are waiting for his declaration. That is what we can say for now.
“We are waiting for when he will declare for Accord.
“In Accord, we are ready for him. Whenever he decides to step in, we are set to receive him,” Oladeji said.
He noted that the party operates without internal factions or godfather influence, offering what he called a “peaceful and dependable structure” for any serious political contender.
“Accord is a very stable and sanitised political platform.
“We have no factions and no godfathers.
“Any candidate who joins us between now and 2027 is sure of a peaceful and dependable structure,” he added.
Oladeji further stated that if Adeleke decides to join the party, its members would rally behind him to ensure victory in the upcoming governorship election.
“If he decides to step in, we will be ready to work with him and ensure his success,” he said.
Adeleke, who is seeking a second term in the 2026 off-cycle governorship election, is exploring more stable political options ahead of the poll.
