The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will soon publish a revised list of candidates for the 2027 general elections following complaints over misspelt names and double nominations.
INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan (SAN), disclosed this on Tuesday in Gombe while speaking with journalists on the sidelines of an interactive session with the commission’s staff from the North-East.
Amupitan said the commission had allowed the maximum 14-day period to review the list and address complaints before publishing the updated version.
He explained that the review was necessary to correct errors identified after the initial publication, including inaccuracies in candidates’ names and cases of double nominations.

“As you know, usually, in any list published, there could be errors here and there, and there have been complaints of misspelling of names. We have also received complaints of double nominations,” he said.
The INEC chairman added, “We decided to allow a maximum period of 14 days. Any moment now, we will make the review public, and the list will be released.”
The updated list is expected to reflect corrections made during the review as the commission continues preparations for the 2027 general elections.
