No fewer than nine persons were injured on Tuesday after fire gutted a bank building under construction on Adeola Odeku Street in the Victoria Island area of Lagos State.
The incident was confirmed by the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), noting that the nine injured persons, all male adults, have been taken to a hospital.
The agency stated that an investigation gathered at the scene revealed the fire emanated from the generator house, adding that a car belonging to Rapid Response Squad (RRS) was brunt outside the building.
LASEMA added that its officers and that of the Lagos Fire Service and Rescue, amongst others prevented the fire from spreading.
