The Ondo State Police Command has arrested two suspected kidnappers and recovered firearms and live ammunition in Odo Ala, Ayede Town in Akure North Local Government Area of the state.
The command’s spokesperson, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, disclosed this in a statement on Friday, February 13, 2026.
Jimoh revealed that the suspects were arrested by the operatives of the Tactical Intelligence Response Squad while carrying out a targeted operation in the area at about 09:48 p.m. on Thursday, February 12.

Jimoh said: “During the operation, two suspects were apprehended, namely Okotie Phillip and Michael Akinjisoye.
“A thorough search conducted on the suspects led to the recovery of one single-barrel rifle and 18 live cartridges concealed in their possession.”
He noted that the suspected kidnappers had been taken into custody, “where they are making useful statements that are currently aiding ongoing investigations.”
The police spokesperson added that efforts were ongoing to apprehend the suspected cohorts and uncover the full extent of their criminal activities.
