Abuja-Kaduna road: RTEAN applauds Uba Sani’s intervention

Governor Uba Sani’s proactive engagement with the Federal Ministry of Works to fast-track the completion of the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano expressway has been hailed as exemplary, people-centered leadership.

In a statement, Hon. Adamu Zubairu Jalaludeen, Kaduna State Chairman of the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) and North West Vice President of the association, commended the Governor’s visit. He described the expressway as a critical gateway to both the North West and North East geopolitical zones, emphasizing its strategic importance for trade and mobility.

“Governor Uba Sani’s intervention has inspired optimism among transport owners and employees that the project will soon be completed,” Jalaludeen said.

The Governor met with Minister of Works Engr. David Umahi last Friday to conduct a comprehensive review of the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano expressway. The discussions focused on expediting the Abuja–Jere–Kaduna segment, which serves as a lifeline for millions of Nigerians daily.

Governor Uba Sani described the expressway as a “national artery,” highlighting its role in socio-economic integration across northern Nigeria. He also linked the project to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, emphasizing its contribution to infrastructure modernization and economic growth.

“This expressway is more than a road — it is an economic corridor connecting people, markets, and opportunities across northern Nigeria and beyond,” the Governor said.

Minister Umahi lauded Governor Uba Sani’s advocacy for Kaduna State, assuring that the Federal Government is committed to delivering the project promptly. Contractors have been instructed to adopt double shifts to accelerate construction without compromising quality, while durable concrete pavement technology will ensure long-term sustainability and lower maintenance costs.
