Nollywood actress Evan Okoro has accused her husband, Chibuzor Erikefe, of threatening to kill her if she attempts to leave their marriage, which began in April this year.
In a Facebook video, the actress expressed fear for her life, describing the relationship as “emotionally abusive” and likening it to “a shoe that does not fit.”
She alleged that Erikefe has never paid her bride price, despite her family’s follow-up two weeks ago.
“The shoe I took home is not my size … his bride price is not on my head,” Okoro said.
According to her, the marriage soured from the start, with her husband assuming she was wealthy after wrongly believing a house she built before their union belonged to him.
She claimed all efforts to restore intimacy and emotional connection had failed, and complaints to his family were ignored.
Okoro revealed she has lodged a petition with the police, urging the public to hold her husband accountable if anything happens to her or her family.
“I have written a petition about this … it is in the police station right now.
“Tell him not to harm me or my family,” she warned.
As of the time of filing this report, Erikefe has not publicly responded to the allegations.
