Adeboye reveals God’s message on abducted Oyo pupils

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has revealed that God assured him the schoolchildren abducted in Oyo State would be released in a dramatic manner.

Adeboye made the disclosure while speaking at the US-Nigeria Faith Heroes Award Gala organised by the Save Nigeria Group in Washington, D.C., where he reflected on the country’s security challenges and the role of prayer in times of crisis.

According to the cleric, he came under criticism for remaining silent while many Nigerians prayed and fasted for the safe return of the abducted pupils and their teachers.

He said the situation deeply troubled him, especially after kidnappers reportedly killed one of the teachers and circulated a video of the incident.

“I cried unto God because we had been fasting and praying for the schoolchildren. The kidnappers felt the government was not responding quickly enough to their demands, so they killed a teacher and showed the video to the world,” he said.

Adeboye said he questioned God over the mockery directed at Christians who had been praying for the victims, asking why there had been no immediate intervention.

He said God responded by assuring him that the children’s freedom would come in a dramatic way, although no timeline was given.

“The Lord told me that the release of the children would be dramatic,” he said.

The RCCG leader also disclosed that God spoke to him about those sponsoring terrorism and kidnapping in Nigeria but said he would not reveal the details of that message.

Speaking on the country’s security situation, Adeboye lamented the growing wave of insecurity and described the continued attacks on innocent Nigerians as heartbreaking.

He said some of those responsible for the violence appeared to be beyond the reach of human justice, insisting that only divine intervention could deal with such individuals.

The cleric appealed to the international community to support Nigeria through diplomatic engagement and other lawful means to help tackle insecurity.

He also called for peaceful coexistence between Christians and Muslims, recalling that he was raised in a family where adherents of both faiths lived together harmoniously.

“We want Christians and Muslims to live together in peace again,” Adeboye said.
