Anambra election: INEC uploads 76% of results on IReV

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has uploaded 76 per cent of results from the Anambra State governorship election to its Result Viewing Portal (IReV).

Checks by The Star on the INEC website at 5:06 p.m. on Saturday showed that results from 4,347 out of the 5,720 polling units where the gubernatorial election was conducted have been uploaded.

The operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) stormed Anambra State on Saturday following reports of vote buying in the poll.

EFCC officers were seen at many polling units in the South-East state to observe the process and ensure no vote buying.

An election observer from the Nigerian Civil Society Situation Room, Dimma Nwobi, decried the alleged vote buying and poor security in the gubernatorial election.

“They are actually buying votes, negotiating. It is sad,” Nwobi said.
