Another woman dies from Asake’s London concert stampede

A 23-year-old female security guard, Gabriella Hutchinson, has died from the injuries she sustained during the stampede at the concert organised by popular singer, Ahmed Ololade, well known as Asake, in Brixton O2 Academy, London, the United Kingdom last Thursday.

It was gathered that Hutchinson, who was working as a contracted security provider at the concert, died in the hospital on Monday after being critically injured in the stampede.

The security guard became the second victim who lost her life in the incident after a 33-year-old Nigerian woman, Rebecca Ikumelo, died on Saturday.

No fewer than eight persons were injured at the singer’s concert in London.

The concert was cancelled midway after scores of fans attempted to gain access into the venue by breaching the doors.

Announcing Hutchinson’s death on Monday, the policing commander for Lambeth and Southwark, Chief Superintendent Colin Wingrove, said: “It is devastating news that a second person has lost their life following the events on Thursday.

“I wish to express my heartfelt condolences to Gabrielle’s family at this unimaginably difficult time.”

According to Daily Mail, Metropolitan Police said a third woman, aged 21, who was still receiving treatment, was in critical condition.
