APC, PDP challenge Adeleke’s re-election at Osun tribunal

The All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have filed petitions before the Osun State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal challenging the re-election of Governor Ademola Adeleke.

The petitions were pasted on the notice board of the tribunal’s secretariat in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State, on Monday, September 7, 2026.

The petitions marked the formal commencement of the legal process arising from the August 15 governorship election which saw Adeleke emerging as the winner.

The tribunal’s secretary, Pete Belemore, confirmed that petitions challenging the outcome of the election had been filed before the tribunal by the two opposition political parties.

Belemore added that necessary notices would be displayed on the tribunal’s notice board before the end of today (Monday).
