Former Ministers Emeka Nwajiuba (State for Education), and Ogbonnaya Onu (Science and Technology), on Wednesday, polled one vote each in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primaries held at Eagle Square, Abuja.
The former ministers got one vote each after votes were counted at Eagle Square, the venue of the convention for the APC presidential primaries.
The APC national leader and former governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu, emerged as the party’s presidential candidate after leading other aspirants by a wide margin of votes.
While Onu was present at the venue of the exercise, Nwajiuba was conspicuously absent.
The Star had earlier reported that the former minister cited the party’s refusal to zone the presidential ticket to the South-East as the reason behind his absence at the venue of the convention.

Nwajiuba, who hails from Imo State, stated: “The understanding from the highest levels prior to his involvement, and considering his role in the founding of the APC, was that of consensus as was with the National Chairmanship a few months ago.
“With that understanding, the presidential ticket was to come to the South, and the South-East.
