APC releases timetable for 2027 election, pegs presidential form at N100m

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released its timetable and schedule of activities for the 2027 general elections.

The APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, announced this in a statement issued on Monday, April 20, 2026.

Morka said the timetable outlined, among other activities, timelines for screening, appeals, and primary elections, as well as directives on the sales of nomination and expression of interest forms to candidates.

According to the schedule, the expression of interest and nomination forms for presidential aspirants cost N100 Million, while those for governorship aspirants cost N50 Million.

Senate aspirants will pay N20 million, House of Representatives aspirants will pay N10 million, and State House of Assembly contenders will pay N6 million for both the expression of interest and nomination forms.

Female aspirants, youths, and persons living with disabilities are to pay only for the expression of interest forms and 50 per cent of the nomination fees.

The timetable showed that the notice of election to state chapters commenced on April 20, 2026, marking the official beginning of the party’s internal electoral process.

The sale of nomination forms is scheduled to run from April 25 to May 2, 2026, while the deadline for submission of completed forms and accompanying documents are fixed for May 4, 2026.

Screening of aspirants across all categories, including presidential and governorship positions, State Houses of Assembly, House of Representatives, and Senate will take place between May 6 and May 8.

The APC further scheduled May 9 for the screening of presidential aspirants, while the publication of screening results for all categories had been set for May 11.

Appeals arising from the screening exercise are to hold between May 12 and May 13 to provide aggrieved aspirants opportunity to seek redress.

APC primary elections are expected to begin with the presidential primary slated for May 15 and 16, followed by the House of Representatives primaries on May 18.

According to the timetable, Senate primaries will hold on May 20, while State House of Assembly primaries are scheduled for May 21.

Governorship primaries will conclude the exercise on May 23.

The timetable also provides for election appeals, with the presidential category slated for May 18, while appeals for other offices will continue through May 25.

Morka reassured APC members, stakeholders, and Nigerians of the party’s commitment to conducting a credible and transparent primary election that would further strengthen its internal democracy and consolidate its progressive ideals.
