Troops of Operation Hadin Kai, working with local vigilantes and hunters, have neutralised a senior Boko Haram commander and arrested a suspected drone and logistics supplier in separate operations in Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
Security sources said troops ambushed suspected insurgents along the Visik River line at about 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, killing a fighter identified as Abdullahi Mafa, described as a former hybrid commander operating in the area.
In a follow-up raid at the Madagali Motor Park around 6:30 p.m., soldiers arrested 64-year-old Dauda Usman Gubula, who is believed to be a collaborator and drone supplier to the insurgent group.
Officials said items recovered from the suspect included two aerial drones and 20 solar power banks.
The suspect is currently in custody for further investigation as troops continue efforts to dismantle the logistics and operational network of Boko Haram and improve security across the North-East.
