Police operatives have recovered the corpse of a 16-year-old ‘Almajiri’ in Kiyawa Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
It was gathered that the assailants had removed one of the boy’s eyes before the police arrived at the scene of the incident.
The Jigawa State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Lawan Shiisu, who confirmed the incident on Friday, April 14, disclosed that the Islamic knowledge teacher of the deceased, Muhammad Mustafa, reported the matter to the police.

“The complainant reported that one of his students, aged 16, went to a nearby bush to fetch firewood at about 8 a.m. on Friday, but did not return home.
“The student was later found in a pool of his own blood with one of his eyes removed,” Shiisu said.
He stated that the boy was taken to Dutse General Hospital where he was confirmed dead by a medical doctor.
The police spokesperson added that a manhunt had started for the assailants.
