Axxela wins fresh global recognition for workplace culture

Axxela Limited, a Nigerian gas and power company, has secured a fresh Great Place to Work recertification following an employee survey that recorded high ratings for workplace safety, inclusion and professional development.

The recertification was awarded by the globally recognised Great Place to Work Institute after an assessment of employees’ experiences across the organisation.

According to the company, 94 per cent of its employees said they felt physically safe at work, while 92 per cent said the organisation celebrated special events.

The survey also showed that 91 per cent of employees felt welcomed from their first day, while the same proportion said they felt good about Axxela’s contribution to the community.

Additionally, 90 per cent of employees said they were offered training and development opportunities to support their professional growth.

Commenting on the recognition, Axxela’s Group Chief Executive Officer, Moshood Olajide, said the recertification reflected the company’s commitment to creating a workplace where employees feel valued, supported and empowered to grow.

“We are proud to be recertified by the Great Place to Work Institute, as it reflects the voices and continued trust of our people,” he said.

Olajide added that a positive workplace culture was essential to sustaining organisational performance, innovation and long-term growth.

He said the recognition would further encourage the company to improve employees’ workplace experiences and strengthen its efforts to attract and retain talented professionals.

Axxela said the recognition reinforced its position as an employer of choice and supported its commitment to developing professionals for the future of Africa’s energy sector.

The company, owned by BlueCore Gas InfraCo Limited, is a private-sector developer of natural gas solutions in Nigeria, with operations spanning gas distribution, captive power generation and energy infrastructure.

It supplies natural gas to about 200 industrial and commercial customers through a pipeline network spanning more than 400 kilometres.
