Bella Shmurda alleges $4m Lagos property scam, seeks help

Nigerian singer Abiola Akinbiyi, popularly known as Bella Shmurda, has claimed he lost $4 million after allegedly purchasing a property in Lagos from a seller who did not own it.

The singer made the allegation during an emotional Instagram Live session on Tuesday, where he appealed for help and said he had only recently discovered the property was allegedly stolen.

Visibly distressed during the livestream, Bella Shmurda said he feared losing the money he had worked for over the years.

“Nigeria, I need your help. I’m not doing okay right now. I spent $4 million of my own hard-earned money, only to find out I bought stolen property,” he said.

He further alleged that the person who sold him the property disappeared after receiving payment.

“The seller has disappeared. Please, help me. Someone step in. I’ve got nothing left. I worked for years for this. I can’t lose $4 million like that,” he said.

The singer added that he had contacted his lawyer to investigate the matter and pursue possible legal action.

Bella Shmurda did not reveal the identity of the alleged seller or provide details of the property during the livestream.

The claims have not been independently verified, and no law enforcement agency or other party connected to the transaction had publicly responded to the allegations as of the time of filing this report.
