Benue governor sacks Lobi Stars officials

Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia has approved the dissolution of the board and management of Lobi Stars Football Club, Makurdi, with immediate effect.

The governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, announced this in a statement issued on Thursday, October 23, 2025.

Kula quoted Alia as saying that the decision was to reposition the club for greater efficiency, accountability, and better performance in both the Nigeria Premier Football League and other competitions.

The governor directed all members of the sacked management to hand over all official documents, assets, and responsibilities to the Benue State Commissioner for Youth, Sports and Creativity, Tiza Imojime.

Alia, who expressed appreciation to the outgoing board and management for their services to the club and Benue State, assured that a new management structure would be announced soon to drive the next phase of the club’s growth and competitiveness.

He, therefore, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to sports development as a vital tool for youth engagement, talent discovery, and social cohesion in Benue State.
