The Head of Service of Benue State, Agbogbo Ode, is dead.
Ode passed away in the early hours of Saturday, May 2, 2026, after a brief illness, according to a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Deborah Aber.
Aber, speaking on behalf of the state government, described the late civil servant as a seasoned technocrat whose service was defined by diligence, professionalism and unwavering commitment to duty.
She said his death represents a significant loss to the public service and the state, noting that his leadership and expertise would be sorely missed.
The government extended its condolences to his family, colleagues and the entire civil service in Benue State, while praying for the peaceful repose of his soul.
