‘Blessing to Oduduwa’s throne’: Ooni celebrates son’s first birthday

Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has celebrated his son, Prince Ademakinwa, on his first birthday.

Celebrating his son via a post on Instagram, Ooni described Ademakinwa as a blessing to him and the throne of Oduduwa.

The revered monarch shared Ademakinwa’s pictures to celebrate the prince on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.

He wrote: “My beloved son, Omooba Ademakinwa,

“You are a true blessing to me and to the sacred throne of Oduduwa. As you continue to grow in wisdom, strength and grace, always remember the divine heritage you carry as a prince of Ile-Ife.

“As you celebrate your birthday, may your path be guided by the values of honor, humility, and service to humanity.

“I am proud to see you walking in the light of Olodumare as you are one today!

“With fatherly love and royal blessings.”

Ooni had Ademakinwa with his fourth wife, Olori Ashley Folasade, whom the traditional ruler married in October 2022.

The prince was born at Princess Royal Hospital in London, United Kingdom.
