Boko Haram attacks police officer’s residence in Yobe

Suspected Boko Haram fighters carried out a targeted attack on the residence of ASP Mohammed Modu, Officer-in-Charge of Tattaba Out Station under the Bara Division in Gulani Local Government Area of Yobe State.

The incident occurred at about 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday, when the insurgents stormed three houses belonging to the officer.

They carted away a Haojue motorcycle, three bicycles, a Golf 3 vehicle, and other personal items before setting all three houses and a Honda Civic ablaze.

Security personnel later visited the scene to assess and document the destruction. No casualties were reported.

The officer has been advised to adopt heightened personal security measures, while patrols and surveillance have been reinforced in the area to deter further attacks.

Authorities have launched an investigation as efforts continue to stabilize the security situation in Gulani LGA.
