Breaking: Actor Murphy Afolabi is dead

Popular Yoruba actor, Murphy Afolabi, has been confirmed dead.

It was gathered that Afolabi died on Sunday, May 14, at the age of 49.

A colleague of the deceased in the Yoruba subsector of Nollywood, Tunde Ola-Yusuf, confirmed the actor’s death.

Ola-Yusuf, a famous actor, director, and producer, who shared a picture of Afolabi on his Facebook page, wrote: “Rest in peace.

“May God give the family and close associates the fortitude to bear the loss.

“Good night Murphy Afolabi.”

Also speaking on his death, Nollywood actor, Damola Olatunji, in a post on his Instagram page, stated: “Murphy 😢but why. We all celebrated your birthday on the 5th of May not knowing it was you saying goodbye.

“Vanity upon vanity-everything we do is ‘vanity’: empty, futile, and short-lived. It doesn’t matter if you’re wise or a fool, ultimately, because everyone ends up dying. Rest on bruv. Sunnnre ooo.”

Though details of Afolabi’s death remain unknown, it was gathered that he died from injuries sustained when he fell in the bathroom.

The death of the famous actor comes barely 24 hours after the demise of a popular Nollywood actor, Saint Obi.
