President Muhammadu Buhari has declared his readiness to welcome the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, to the State House in Abuja on May 29, 2023.
Buhari, who had earlier said the May 29 handover date is sacrosanct, stressed that he will gladly welcome Tinubu to the Presidential Villa.
The President said this in a phone call with the President-elect on Friday, April 21, in commemoration of Eid-el-Fitr.
According to a statement issued on Friday by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, Buhari and Tinubu further thanked God for seeing the day and prayed for the stability and the wellbeing of the country.
