Bayero University, Kano (BUK) has achieved a significant milestone in its academic journey, as all 53 academic programmes evaluated during the 2024 accreditation exercise by the National Universities Commission (NUC) have been granted full or accredited status.
This achievement was made known by the University Registrar, Haruna Aliyu.
He said the accreditation exercise, which took place between October and November 2024, assessed both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across a range of faculties, including Administration, Agriculture, Allied Health Sciences, Arts, Computing, Education, Engineering, Medicine, Pharmacy, Science, and Social Sciences.
Adding that the outcome reflects BUK’s unwavering dedication to maintaining high academic standards, advancing research, and continually enhancing its teaching and infrastructural capacity.
With the NUC’s approval, these programmes are now certified to meet national standards for the next five years, assuring students of the credibility and recognition of their qualifications for employment, further studies, and participation in national service.
The university management praised the collective efforts of staff and students in achieving this success and reiterated its commitment to sustaining excellence as a premier institution of higher learning and innovation in Nigeria and beyond.
