Canadian man found dead in Lagos hotel room

A 79-year-old Canadian national, Mr. Dwight Sullivan, was found dead in his hotel room on Victoria Island, Lagos State.

The incident occurred at Sun Heaven Hotels Limited, located at 191A Adeleke Adedoyin Street, off Kofo Abayomi Street, in the early hours of October 7.

According to reports, the hotel’s Chief Security Officer, Mr. Sunday Isadeha, discovered the lifeless body of the guest in Room 114—where he had been staying since October 2—and promptly notified the police at about 4:30 p.m.

Detectives from the Victoria Island Police Division visited the scene and took photographs for investigation. Police sources confirmed that there were no visible signs of violence on the deceased’s body.

The body was later taken to the Lagos Island General Hospital, Marina, where a medical officer confirmed him dead. His remains have been deposited in the hospital’s morgue for preservation and autopsy.

Preliminary findings suggest no immediate evidence of foul play, though investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of death.
