Yemi Cardoso, CBN Governor
The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Olayemi Cardoso, will on Monday lead Nigeria’s delegation to the 2025 Annual Meetings of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF) holding in Washington, D.C.
According to the Presidency, Cardoso—who serves as Nigeria’s Alternate Governor at both Bretton Woods institutions—will represent the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, who is currently indisposed.
Also on the delegation is the Minister of State for Finance, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite.
A statement issued on Sunday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed the composition of the team and Nigeria’s participation in the high-level meetings.
The World Bank outlined key events for the week, including the Development Committee Plenary scheduled for Thursday, October 16, and the International Monetary and Financial Committee (IMFC) session on Friday, October 17.
Delegates from across the world will take part in regional briefings, press conferences, and high-level discussions on global economic trends, financial markets, and international development.
The annual meetings bring together central bank governors, finance ministers, private sector leaders, and development experts to deliberate on strategies for global economic stability and sustainable growth.
