A former governorship aspirant in Ondo State, Dr Isaac Kekemeke, has been re-elected as the All Progressives Congress (APC) South-West Zonal Chairman.
Kekemeke, alongside seven other zonal executive members, emerged by consensus arrangement at the APC South-West Zonal Congress held in Lagos on Wednesday, March 25, 2026.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Zonal Congress Committee, Jide Jimoh, said 1,398 delegates drawn from all the states in the South-West were accredited for the congress.
Jimoh said Lagos had 337 accredited delegates, Ondo – 245, Oyo – 243, Osun – 156, Ekiti – 211, and Ogun – 206.
According to him, the zonal executive members elected unopposed include Alfred Aluko (Secretary), Ismail Majaro (Legal Adviser), Lateef Ibirogba (Organising Secretary), and Ayobami Afolabi (Publicity Secretary).
Others are Oyetunde Adesanya (Woman Leader), Daramola Adesuyi (Youth Leader), and Dayo Ishola (Representative of Persons With Disability).
APC adopts consensus for 2026 convention leadership picks
Speaking on behalf of the new exco, Kekemeke appreciated the APC leaders in the zone for honouring the team with the responsibility of serving the party.
He said: “We will do better than we have done. We will do much better than we have ever done in the last four years.
“Our duty in the South-West is to make sure we give our President overwhelming support in 2027.
“We call for everyone’s support, including all our governors in the zone, to ensure that South-West has the highest number of votes for Tinubu in 2027.”
