A Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting in the Badagry area of Lagos State has remanded a 65-year-old man, Idris Danladi, for allegedly defiling a one-year-old girl in the state.
The Chief Magistrate, Patrick Adekomaiya, ordered the remand of Danladi in the Awarjigoh Correctional Centre, Badagry, after he pleaded not guilty to the one-count charge of defilement on Monday, August 19, 2024.
The prosecutor, Inspector Ayodele Adeosun, told the court that Danladi committed the offence at the back of Customs Quarters, Seme Border, Badagry in Lagos on August 9.

Adeosun said the offence contravenes the provisions of sections 261 and 263 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
The Chief Magistrate, after ordering Danladi’s remand, adjourned hearing in the case until October 9 for ruling in the bail application filed by the defendant and for legal advice from the office of the Director of Public Prosecution.
